Sun, Tan and Echo!

OK, every time I sit down downward to do my makeup and say to myself, "Karen, don't do smoky eyes," I end up doing smoky eyes, then at this point I'm thinking that I should simply tell myself to exercise smoky eyes and assume that via the power of reverse psychology I'll exercise something other than smoky eyes. 🙂 Let's see if that logic holds. LOL!

Today I used Sunday, Tan and Repeat, a duo chrome teal shadow from MAC Mirage Noir,, to meet how it performs.

First off, it looks clumsily like to MAC Club, one of my favorite MAC shadows of all fourth dimension. They're actually surprisingly similar, and then y'all may non need this one if yous have already Order. They're essentially dupes to my eye… Practically. They're gull-esque. Or dupe-like. I think you have to wait really closely to see the differences between them, or exist similar a total eagle-eyed color hound.

Sun, Tan Repeat pops a bit more on lids… Information technology's a bit brighter and more than teal (tealer?) than Club, so information technology seems a tad more than cheerful than Gild, which has those deeper charcoal tones… Club is moodier.

Lord's day, Tan and Repeat is also shinier than Order, so if yous always end up applying Social club with a wet brush to amplify the shimmer, then ST&R could be a worthy add-on.

Here'due south it in activeness…

Something else I'k noticing: I prefer ST&R'due south texture. Information technology's MUCH softer and creamier than Club.

ST&R, by the way, looks really beautiful if you line your lash lines with a deep, dark forest green or a blackened green liner. Y'all could practise an iridescent liner, only I prefer a matte finish because I like the contrast of the matte against the shimmer, then you get that extra interesting element. I'm wearing it today with Urban Decay 24/seven Glide-On Heart Pencil in Invasion on my lash line and water lines (although I'k non sure if I'll be using this particular shade on my water lines over again because my left eye is all watery now… I think I'm destined for a life of only wearing sure MAC liners and Chanel Stylo Yeuxs on my water line).

I'g also wearing MAC Texture eyeshadow in my crease.

The rosy brownish lipstick I'm wearing is too from Mirage Noir. It's a re-promoted lippy from the permanent drove called Twig, which is technically a Satin, merely it looks like a Matte.

It'south super smooth — I'm talking NO settling into my lip lines at all — and I similar the color, but my lips feel a tad parched at the moment…

Incidentally, I think this is i of those rosy brown lipsticks that tin can part every bit a nude for some skin tones because it isn't too pink.

Now, smoky optics might exist a little too much glam for what I have to do the rest of this afternoon, which is take the baby to the park and then to TJ'south because I saw in their May Fearless Flyer that they have a cauliflower gnocchi I'm dying to try, only I figure that as long equally I go on the skin super chill (MAC Face up and Body with a light dusting of MAC Mineralize Loose/Foundation), I'll be cool.

BTW, I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head, and I'll exist damned if I'm the only ane singing "Islands in the stream" to myself this afternoon. 🙂

Your friendly neigbhorhood dazzler aficionado,

Karen
