Stellar: A new makeup line for the ladies in the heart

When it comes to foundations colors for medium skin tones, Stellar is a star. ⭐⭐⭐

Take you heard virtually this line? It's kind of earth shattering if y'all're in, like, the mid-range for foundation and are always and forever mixing ii colors (hello, welcome to my life). I got really excited when it launched at Sephora non long ago considering they have 22 — Twenty TWO! — shades of their foundation just for the girls in the middle. They're like the Baskin-Robbins ? of undertones. At that place'due south peach, nighttime peach, yellow, butterscotch, caramel undertones… They've got all the flavors!

A "Stellar" (haha) new Canadian makeup line for the gals in the middle

Everything in the line is vegan, cruelty costless and fragrance free. The founder, Monika Deol, is a famous news ballast, television evidence host and old music veejay in Canada.

She's besides Indian and, beingness an on-air personality, she spends a lot of fourth dimension getting her makeup done for work. She noticed that makeup artists were always mixing unlike products to get her exact foundation and concealer shades. Later on talking to her friends and family, she constitute out that they were all doing the same thing — cocktail-ing different face products to custom blend shades for their skin tone.

Hey, I'm i of those girls, besides! I'one thousand always mixing two colors because it's rare for me to find a foundation that GETS MY UNDERTONES, man.

Monika'due south line is for ladies similar me (and you, if you're in the same gunkhole) — the gals smack dab in the center of the shade range with undertones that aren't ever represented in the makeup world.

I've tried a few things from the line, like the foundation, of class, a concealer, one of the blushes and a few of the lipsticks. I oasis't seen their loose pulverisation or mascara in person yet, but I want to.

Stellar Limitless Foundation ($38)

I couldn't await to pigment my face with Limitless Foundation. It's a liquid foundation in a plastic canteen with a pump, and for some reason — I dunno why — the colors look lighter in the bottles than they practise in real life, then avoid eyeballing the canteen as your guideline for what would work for your skin.

The formula is oil free, available in 22 shades, and it's supposed to piece of work for all skin types.

You lot know NARS Sheer Glow? This feels similar. It's on the runnier side, but it isn't every bit runny every bit a sparse serum foundation.

Straight out of the gate, the coverage is medium, so it'll hide a few freckles and smooth your uneven spots. But if y'all want more of a flawless, opaque, Instagram-BAM! finish, yous can build it up to full coverage. Information technology layers well. I'd be conscientious when doing this, though, because it tin can become cake-face up like THAT if you layer likewise much.

The finish is luminous and borderline dewy — not as dewy every bit NARS Pure Radiant, only closer to something like Fifty'Oreal'due south True Match Lumi, and and as far as pore blurring goes (which is my priority these days), it doesn't actually do that.

I've tried three of the colors — S09, a medium with yellow undertones, which is Stellar's equivalent of MAC NC42; S05, a light-medium with yellow undertones; and S14, a wheat with yellow undertones. Honestly, all 3 of piece of work pretty well with my skin because the yellow undertones are and then on indicate. I wore all three on dissimilar parts of my face and ended up liking the lightest shade, S05, the most because all of them oxidize (get darker) by about half a stride on my skin.

If oxidation is an effect for yous, likewise, go with the lightest selection yous can get away with.

I'k wearing Limitless Foundation in S05 and Limitless Concealer in S03

It'southward a cute foundation for real life things, like going to work, parties, that kind of thing, considering information technology looks very natural, just I'd have information technology for a examination drive first if you're hoping to use it for a large event like a prom or hymeneals — basically, annihilation where there'due south lots of pics. The dewy finish, at to the lowest degree on me, looks borderline oily in pics, and because Limitless doesn't actually blur pores as well every bit other liquid foundations (MAC Next to Null comes to mind), my pores are forepart and center.

Stellar Limitless Concealer ($27)

I feel like Limitless Concealer ($27) blurs my pores better than the foundation! It's really pretty. The satin finish is a lot similar MAC Select Moisturecover, my become-to from back in the day, and like the foundation, it's medium coverage.

Clockwise from the lower left: Blush in Eclipse, Lipstick in Night Thing, Lipstick in Super Sonic, Lipstick in Disco Moon, Limitless Concealer in S03 and Limitless Foundation in S05

I think it's improve for cheeks, nose, oral fissure and chin — basically whatsoever place where y'all can set it with a healthy dose of face pulverization, because it needs something to lock it downwardly. I wore information technology once as an undereye concealer — which is the identify on my face where I use the least amount of pulverization because I don't like it to wait heavy— and that concealer was like, "Adieu, Felicia!" by lunch.

Some quick thoughts on the powder chroma and lipstick

The Cosmic Blush in Eclipse ($24) has high paint and a soft texture, but it feels…dusty, and when it's on my cheeks, my skin looks dry.

Every bit for the Lipsticks ($22 each, unflavored and unscented), they're on the thicker side, so they aren't glace. They're also kinda drying based on the 3 shades I've tried.

Fifty-fifty though the blush and lipstick don't actually accident my heed, I think Stellar has stellar potential (haha! I know…), and I love the idea of the brand. Can't wait to run into what they come up upwardly with in the time to come, especially for base products!
